About the Presenter:
Dr Colin Tan is a Consultant ophthalmologist and Clinician-Researcher from the Department of Ophthalmology, Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He did his Fellowship in Medical Retina and Retinal Imaging at the Doheny Eye Institute, University of Southern California, USA. He manages patients with retinal conditions such as age related macular degeneration, retinal vascular diseases, polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy and diabetic retinopathy. He has been awarded the National Healthcare Group Clinical Leadership in Research scheme and the Researcher Investigator Scientist Enabler (RISE) program. In addition, he has received numerous awards such as the National Healthcare Group Eye Institute Alcon Research Prize. He has over 50 publications in international journals such as Ophthalmology, Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science, American Journal of Ophthalmology, British Journal of Ophthalmology, Eye, and the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr Tan has also presented at the annual meetings of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), American Society of Retinal Specialists, and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ASCRS). His research interests include vitreoretinal conditions such as age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy; myopia and its complications; cataract surgery, epidemiology, and retinal imaging techniques.
